The Season For Givers - Miniature Blog Series: Part One

So, what does it take to create a culture where givers can succeed? Three steps can change everything. First, recognize that givers are the most valuable people in the organization, but are prone to burnout (1). Employers and supervisors can protect their givers from burnout by incorporating the 5 minute favor, coined by Adam Renkin, a serial entrepreneur. The concept is to find small ways to add high value to someone’s life. An example is connecting a colleague or subordinate with someone you know that could help them advance in their career or professional development.

If your company is struggling with burnout, Catching Leadership provides one-on-one coaching as well as group coaching to help counteract this phenomenon that many organizations are facing. We also offer in-person or virtual speaking engagements and consulting to shift mindsets regarding the idea of a healthy work-life balance and realistic work expectations. Lastly, we offer outdoor retreats to offer organization members a break from the burnout they may be experiencing from the office, focusing on mindfulness, team building, as well as professional development.
